What makes us special
We will always try and understand your needs and offer you the best solution, not necessarily the most expensive option. Customer relationships are important to us, the number of repeat customers we have is evidence of our focus on the customer.
We are a family run business who have a long and proud history. A father and daughter team who live and work in Northampton, we understand the local community and aim to meet their security needs.
There are a number of mobile locksmiths in the area but we are only one of two locksmiths in Northampton with a retail shop. Customers can reach us by phone or email but also visit the shop for that face to face to explain their security needs.
We go the extra mile
If the large chain stores can't meet your key cutting needs they will send you away. Northampton Locksmiths Ltd will always try and order blanks for those more unusual key types to satisfy the local customer.
Meet the team
Alan started his own business in 1965 working from 2 lock up garages and back then it was mainly carpentry and lock fitting. Over the years the business grew and was based in various sites eventually moving to Milton Street where Alan employed over 15 staff. These premises had large workshops, offices and a retail shop and services included boarding up and replacing shop windows, supplying and fitting domestic wooden, aluminium and UPVC doors and windows.
In 1988 the business moved to Birchfield Road East and concentrated on locks, keys, trophies and engraving.
Alan loves his gardening and making home brewed wine and beer.
Sharon started working on Saturdays in the family business; on leaving school in 1985 this became a full time job for her. The family business was very different back then and was based in Milton Street where she did a variety of jobs including fitting shop and domestic windows as well as cutting keys and fitting locks.
Years of experience and an understanding of how a lock works really helps when cutting keys especially if a customer has had keys cut elsewhere and they don’t fit.
Sharon is the person you will most likely see in the shop and her many jobs include answering the phone, cutting keys, engraving trophies as well as the accounts.
Sharon has been involved in Scouting, loves camping and playing badminton.
